Medium is the minimum requirement environment for Geth software, and Business is the recommended environment for Geth software.

If you want more advanced Geth node monitoring, automatic restart when it goes down, or Deadlock Resolver to automatically resolve blocks when they split and stop, you need to choose the Enterprise plan.

If access to the cluster continues to exceed the expected TPS in requests to the cluster, and the total of in-band and out-bound requests within 30 days exceeds the threshold, access to the cluster will be blocked.

The cluster includes AWS Shield Standard, which is a basic DoS attack protection. If you need more advanced protection, you will need to select the Enterprise plan.

About Licensing

The G.U. Blockchain Cloud charges in the following units

  • Type and number of clusters
  • Number of BlockExplorer
  • Number and type of Ethereum nodes

Nodes and clusters have different sizes, and each size has different performance and license prices.

  • Type and number of nodes
    • Type:Small, Medium, Large, XLarge, Business, Mega, Metal
  • The type and number of clusters and the Block Explorer that comes with the cluster
    • Type:Small, Medium, Large, Mega

Storage licenses are charged based on the amount of storage used by the node and Block Explorer nodes.

Performance differences by license type

Node type

The type of node determines the vCPU, memory, and CPU credits that the server has. Its performance determines the number of transactions it can handle.

Types of clusters

A cluster consists of a group of nodes, a load balancer, and a block explorer. Depending on the type of cluster, an upper limit will be changed on the inbound and outbound communication capacity within a certain period of time (30 days). If accesses exceed the capacity limit for that cluster, the load balancer will stop and access to the cluster will be blocked until the time elapses and the capacity falls below the limit within 30 days.

Optimal configuration

However, for the Ethereum PoA algorithm, it is recommended to use at least 8 Signer Nodes for development and testing, and at least 12 Signer Nodes for operation.

If the number of nodes is less than that, the probability that the blockchain will be shut down increases significantly, so it is basically not recommended.

Automatic license renewal

On the first day of each month, after midnight GMT, if there are any clusters or servers remaining, new licenses will be automatically purchased and applied to those active clusters or servers.

To prevent the automatic renewal of the license at the beginning of each month, delete the corresponding cluster or node. However, even if you stop the system, the license you have purchased will not be returned.

Now, let's get started with blockchain.
